Actually, when you work the bugs out of the process for your specific need, the white tin works very well.

We considered trashing the project also, but we stuck with it until we got to a high quality level. 

I think you'll see more customers requesting it as it becomes more well known, of course right now it's being driven for the most part (from my knowledge) by Alcatel. 

It's a good coating, but it's not something you can just install and forget.
