Ben,

We are handling this requirement by putting shading over components not
installed for a specific variation.  We do all the documentation within
FABLINK and a drawing part is created for each variation.  This is still a
 manual thing but for now Mentor tools do not support multiple variations.
 On the assembly drawing there is a note stating that all shaded components
are not installed.  There is no list of components on the drawing as such,
the parts list provides this information.
