I am told that to import into Europe you need the CE mark. Period!  There are 
third party groups willing to help you get this.

For information, you can obtain the European directives from the European 
public affairs office in New York.  Ph (212)371-3804 and fax (212)688-1013.

The immediate issue is compliance with EMC directive by Jan 1, 1996.  This 
tests ESD, line transients, RFI immunity and emissions.

The next directive by Jan 1, 1997, requires the use of a harmonized safety 
standard such as based upon IEC 950 or IEC 1010-1.
