Hello George,

     First let me say that I don't have that particular AMP SIMM socket in
front of me, but I imagine it's not radically different than any other SIMM
socket...they pretty much look and function the same no matter who makes them.

     If the SIMM is flat before you put it in and then it's bowed when it's
installed, sounds to me like either the two holes that are drilled on each end
of the module is the wrong diameter and the module not seating flush on the
pins of the SIMM socket like they should. Those are the pins that hold the
module stationary when it's installed...or they're putting the SIMM in
backwards.
