What I was saying is that my application is for locator pins. Do the dimms you use have a notch that the clip fits into? A little loctite in that location might solve your problem.
Of course finding the root cause would be the ideal, but we have to be pragmatic i.e. work with what we got. Still, I like to find out what causes a problem in order to avoid it in the future. Having said that I'm thinking in this case the root cause could be a mis-match between the board thickness and the connector design.
