From our perspective we prefer to J-hook and solder the spliced wires if we must splice wires.  Our goal is to design the need to splice out of the assembly.  Having said that there are always exceptions.

Does anyone know of any specification for attaching two stranded wires together. We are limited in thickness as to what we can use.

 

Is it OK to twist, hook and solder the two ends?
