The digital camera is here and boy is there a choice. I have purchased the Casio
100 which is the new model just out which you should check out for the low end
machine.

I have used it for close ups of printed boards 4" x 6" full frame and then
printed it out on a A3 color printer which would be perfectly good for your
application. Try it out. 

Your boss will like it as its only L450.
