Hi Daniel,
Let me also add that flux selection will directly affect ionic
contamination levels. Some fluxes will make it more difficult to clean your
machine than others. Also something to think about, the flux you choose will
also serve as thermal protection for the soldermask coating on the board, the
thicker the flux the more protection. When the board is introduced into the
molten solder at 485F or higher for three seconds plus without the right
flux, you can see solder tailing and bridging as a result of the soldermask
not having enough thermal protection. Like Dexter/Alpha I also have a
