Hi all,

The compensation amount depends on many factors and can be as little as
zero.

What etchant are you using and what are the operating parameters of the
etchant?

Best regards,

Phil Culpovich

     Ken
The rule of thumb is a .001" etch factor for 1 oz. and .0005" for
.5 oz. copper. That is to say .0005" per edge of trace on . 1 oz and
.00025 per edge on the .5 oz..

     Hope this helps.

What is the widely used etch compensation factor provided on 1 oz copper and
.5 oz copper on a 4 mil trace? I mean how much more 4 mil line will be
beefed up by fab house before etching so that at the end he or she will get
required 4 mil trace width.
