Thanks to all replies -
The threadlocker that I sampled (Loctite 290) did indeed crack the
polycarbonate case, but it is meant for steel. The reason I asked the q. was
because the toolshop that I'm using to drill/tap the holes suggested
threadlocake as an option, we hadn't been aware of this as a possibiliy up
to now -I've ordered another type designed for plastic plumbing fittings so
I'll see how that goes.
