Ken:
I am assuming you are asking for what kind of input files (to the test
system) are required. If this is the case, the standard information
required goes like this:
1. CAD Neutral file. This file will vary by CAD system you are using
and the test development system you are using. The folks working on
the GENCAM project are hopefully going to standardize these in the
future. Some examples: PADS outputs one in ASCII format that is
acceptable. Allegro needs a custom extraction script run against it
to produce one.
If CAD Neutral file is not possible, you need a netlist with all
connection information, and a file describing both component pad XY
location and physical dimesioning (especially tooling hole)
information.
2. Bill of Materials. Most people like to get these in a standardized
electronic format.
3. Complete electrical schematics for the PCB
4. Your Test Engineer or test development house will also want a
known-good PCB and/or a good set of mechanical drawings.
If you need more specifics, let me know.
