LeadNetters:
If I do an XRF analysis and find no Cr, great! If I find some, then I
need to do the colormetric test using a UV-vis spectrometer as per the
TAC document.

Here is where my question comes: what do I use as my weight to figure
out my ppm level? It is possible to pull some things apart and then
weight the individual problem piece. However, because of the stupid
definition of a homogeneous material, I really should be using the
weight of the coating alone. Since I know neither the weight or the
thickness and density of the coating how in the world would I do this?!

We have thought of weighing the pieces we are testing before and after
application of the solution to produce the color for the test, but I
think this is a rather weak solution (pun intended).

Any help, comments, snide remarks will be accepted.
Bev
