I believe that is an error. TML should be 1.0%.

Subject: [IPC-600-6012] Outgassing Requirement of IPC 6012

All,

We have historically called out outgassing to ASTM 595 for Total Mass Loss
(TML) and Collected Volatile Condensable Materials (CVCM). Typical values
are 1.0% TML and .1% CVCM

We want to standardize using paragraph 3.10.1 in 6012 but there's are a
couple problems.

First I believe there is an error in the requirement. 3.10 states TML 0.1%.
I don't know of any materials that will meet that requirement. The first
question then is "Is this an error in the specification?"

The second question is the testing requirement. When invoked every lot
would have to be tested - similar to a Group A test. The second question
then is "Is this meant to be a lot test requirement?"

Thanks in advance.
