Doug,
We use different color Soldermask to show the differentiate the
different solders that we use on our assemblies. We have not seen a
difference in price, though some vendors tried to talk us out of it.
Green - Low temp
Red - High temp
Blue - high tin
Black - high Lead

Subject: [DC] Cost Differences of Different Colored Boards
...

Is there a cost difference for different
solder masks using say a red as opposed
        to typical green color?

The suggestion is kicking around to signify
prototype boards with some color other than
green, and released production style boards
        as ONLY green color.

        Regards, Doug McKean
