Melinda,
The way that I have got around this problem is to draw the individual
resistors with just one electrical pin per gate. I then added a dummy pin
one with lines and text. Then I assigned pin 1 in "Signal Pin" in the gate
editor as
+5V or GND etc.

a logic diagram with some resistors, feel free to merge them
into your library.
