  We had the same problem a few years ago.

You need to be sure that you specify to your board vendor the tolerances .
And the socket vendor can supply you with their specs for the SIMM.

  This can be a very difficult problem to straighten out.

Be sure to emphasize the specs to your pcb vendor.
