Hi Jean-Francois, I'm not as familiar with IPC A-610 as I'm gonna be in the very near future but . . . two other sources you might consider in deciding whether to fail or pass a conformal coating would be the original Master Design Package (what the customer is paying you to build). Ultimately somebody in management can decide to ASK the customer what coating would be acceptable. Very rarely we will get the customer to sign a waiver for a couple boards if they are on that pass/fail edge. These are usually the customers that are very satisfied with out work. Otherwise don't sweat it - fail them yourself, have Production build more or try a rework in Assembly. Good luck with the new gig. Hans ~~~~~~~~ Hans M. Hinners Materials (& Process!)
