You guys are absolutely fantastic!!!

I did some quick searches, while reading responses, and at this moment in
time can safely reply to my designer that MIL-STD-1686, is still the
document, however, I will also tell him "don't take too long to design
because 1686 could be history very soon".

I also informed him of EIA-625, the mention in J-Std-001, and ANSI/ESD
S20.20-1999.  I also marked a couple web sites for further reference.
