Hi Jens, > I just wonder, we generate quite a bit a used blue cotton bases > (cellulose) buffer paper scrap which we just discharge. > > Can it be recycled? Are there any companies interested in it? > Don't recycling programs depend on where you are? If you were in the San Francisco bay area I'd say yes (without knowing for certain), out here in Georgia (US) anything that does get recycled is done at the landfill. > The normal paper recycler don't take it - since it's not paper obviously. > You might ask the cellulose manufacturer or check with your version of the Environmental Protection Agency, or the Green folks. I did a Infoseek search for "recycling cellulose" and got a couple of hits. This one was kinda neat: http://www.core77.com/AWID/green.html Countertops: Environ Biocomposit comes in 3' x 6' sheet sizes of several thicknesses. It is made of thermoformed water based soy protein resin (an agricultural based flour by-product),recycled cellulose (waste paper such as newsprint), and environmentally friendly dyes. Environ does not give off formaldehyde and the newsprint is not de-inked. Product: Environ Biocomposit. Manufactured by: Phoenix Biocomposits-Mankato, Minnesota. Not that I expect ya to go all the way to Minnesota. Hans ~~~~~~~~ Hans M. Hinners Materials (& Process!)
