Doug, but didn't J-STD-001, cl. 3 cover most MIL-spec items? Especially it covers co-required design and fabrication specs (3.0), cleanliness (8.0, 8.3), material/process Compatibility (3.4 and appendix D), process control (12.2, 11.1 and appendix E). As it seems the conversation from MIL to IPC won't (and shouldn't) reversed back the next few years, and J-STD-001 could figure out as "the" standard, probably MIL will focuse three fields (1. J-STD-001, cl. 3-certification of the prod. sites , 2. certification of personnel, 3. different deviations from mil to J). What means FARS n' DFARS? Here, go swim with the sharks. > Class 2 manufacturers have it WAY easier (...) . ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
