Hans and everybody, First Hans, thank you so much for putting things in perspective for me. I can sleep tonight...and yes, the honeymoon is definitely over (bummer)... Paul, I really do wish I could convince my bosses to let me spend some time at a fabricator, but as Hans said; "That's rich..." and rich we ain't. We all have our particular stengths, PCB board fabrication hasn't been one of mine. It's never needed to be up until this point in time. Earl spoke earlier of some real truths, anyone involved in manufacturing printed circuit products need to know about this stuff, and concurrently engineering it, otherwise you get your lumps and bruises like I've been getting. I've finally been put into a postion where his words are proving painfully true. I've lived a sheltered life as an assembly process engineer. I read a lot, and participate a lot on the TechNet, as well as trying to stay current with what's important to my primary responsibilities. This fab stuff has been a new curve that's been thrown at me which I'm trying to deal with...take a lesson assembly folks, bone-up on this fab stuff. It may be thrown at you sometime in the future. As a note, the first finger that was initially pointed with all these problems, was at the assembly process...that we did something wrong during assembly. All problems that I've discovered with the bare fabs have come from trying to protect my butt and not having things on how we assembled the product being the root cause. Tough way to work, being defensive all the time... And Hans, yes, I'm the only one trying to figure out the problems...'cause; "That's the way we've always done things..." -Steve Gregory- ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
