Paul, Somehow I missed the original question regarding manufacturers. We manufacture everything from single-sided to 20+ layer Military multilayers including high layer count rigid-flex. We have MIL approval to MIL-PRF-55110 for FR4 rigid (GF), Polyimide rigid (GI), Polyimide Thermount (BI), Epoxy Thermount (BF), and adhesive and adhesiveless Rigid-Flex to MIL-P-50884. We also do buried/blind vias, metal core boards, heatsinks, impedance control, Teflon ...did I miss anything? With the markets we deal with it is imperative that we talk intensely with most of our customers. We firmly believe in the concurrent engineering philosophy. There is an added value here for the customers that are willing, that should demand, the manufacturers have open dialogue with them. You are correct though that this is not as common as it should be and there are still some out there who just say make whatever I design. I wish I had more time to comment on this forum and will do my best to answer any direct questions. I can also be reached at [log in to unmask] Best regards, Scott A. Surely its about time that the people that use PCB,s( PWB,s) started talking to the people that make them! I used to be a specialty chemical supplier to the PCB industry in the UK and realized a long time ago that users of pcbs don't talk to the manufacturers, they send them a design and that's it The problem is users don't often understand the processes involved in manufacture Any comments >> ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
