Didn't keep the original question...but... Okay here's my first question. We are shopping around for a 'go-to' supplier for rapid turn prototypes. My feeling is that most can sufficiently satisfy our delivery and cost IF we establish a design for manuf guideline that is "rapid-turn" friendly. Is that a true statement. For these types of builds, would you say that if our end-use will be Class1 BUT have various complexity levels, we should create a design guideline for 'Rapid Proto for levelA' and 'Rapid Proto for LevelB'...etc. Does this make sense? I envision a 3 field table for the 3 producibility levels but only as they relate to quickturn rapid prototypes. Then pulse the suppliers for filling in the values that suit best. Finally do suppliers observe and speak in terms of the Product Classification outlined by IPC (e.g. Type, Class, Level)? IPC has created nifty break-out of all board types. -----Original Message----- From: Paul Brown [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Wednesday, September 29, 1999 2:39 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [TN] PCB Manufacturers Well So far we have managed to obtain about 5 replies from PCB manufacturers out of how may thousands worldwide Can anyone suggest a way of getting them involved ? Surely its about time that the people that use PCB,s( PWB,s) started talking to the people that make them! I used to be a specialty chemical supplier to the PCB industry in the UK and realized a long time ago that users of pcbs don't talk to the manufacturers, they send them a design and that's it The problem is users don't often understand the processes involved in manufacture Any comments ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
