Blaine,

The IPC-D-356A "Bare Substrate Electrical Test Data Format" includes columns for buried
resistor and capacitor test data, however, we have not heard of anyone actually using
this format for testing bare boards with buried passives. Have you?

Most PWB manufacturers are still using IPC-D-356 CAD generated net lists with secondary
resistor files or are performing gerber extractions. Do you think that this is likely
to change in the near future? Is the problem is the lack of CAD source data,
inexperienced CAM operators or are the buried passive applications too few to be
noticed? Were any of these issues addressed at the BBT conference? Please advise..

Regards, Dan Brandler, Ohmega Technologies.
