Pricing issue is always a sticky point to many small to mid-size CMs. There were many discussions regaring pricing for SMT boards on TechNet, but I haven't seen too many on thru-hole. I still see quite a bit of thru-hole boards in our company. Being a high mix, low to mid volume company, we have not invested in an auto insertion machine. With the size of kits, I would not be able to utilize it anyhow. With that said I would like to take a quick survey on what the industry standard(TechNet standard) is. I believe all of us will benefit by the information so your response is greatly appreciated. Take one of our 100% pin thru-hole boards. Build quality is to IPC class 2, no other special instructions. Board size: 5"X7" with gold finger on one end. Component count: 150-200(75-80% passive-ceramic, 20-25% ICs, connectors, sockets) Process: gold finger and mounting holes need to be masked. Manual insertion, Able to wave all parts(Water soluble). There are couple labels that need to be put on. Date code stamp. 2-3 eproms inserted into sockets. For a build of 100 boards, with given info, how much per component? I charge $0.10 per component plus $1.00per for any post wave add-ons(jumper wires and comps that require hand solder) Tom ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
