A question:

I am interpreting IPC-A-600, 2.10.3 Annular ring-suppoerted holes as:

Annular ring less than .002" at any point around the circumference is
considered breakout. Any area with breakout (< .002") for 90 degress or more
around the circumference is not acceptable (class 1-2 supported hole)

I had someone tell me that even when there is no visible annular
(measureable to .002" or greater)ring for 90 degrees or greater, you should
take into account the thickness of hte hole barrel/wall, there is enough
plating around the hole wall to meet the requirements of IPC.

I find this hard to believe, and would appreciate other opinions.

G~
