I suggest you get IPC-2222 and IPC-SM-782 also.

Subject: [DC] Industry Standards for SMT

Hello all,

I am currently revising our company procedures for Design and Manufacture of
Printed circuit boards. Especially with regard to the design of the boards
for SMT placement. I hope to adhere to the industry standards where
possible. For this reason I am considering buying IPC-2221 'Generic Standard
on Printed Board design', IPC-D-279 'Design Guidelines for Reliable Surface
Mount Technology' and 'Printed boards for SMT' from the PCIF. Am I right in
my assumption that these documents are the closest thing to a global
industry standard as I am going to find? Do other designers out there find
them useful, does anyone have any recommendations?

Regards,

Mark
