Hi again! Boy, I'm just full of questions today huh?!We got a job we're bidding on for some Flex-circuits...at pretty good volumes. The volume will dictate the need for additional capital equipment. So I've been asked to come-up with a S.W.A.G. on how much money it will take to support this project. The printers, pick and place, reflow, and stuff like that I can deal with, but according to the drawings on the assemblies that I have (there's 14-different part numbers) they want them electrically tested. Nothing complicated, stuff like opens, shorts, overvoltage, undervoltage, diode polarity, as well as being tested for values on certain components like thermistors, resistors, and whatnot. I've built some flex before, but I have not a clue how and with what kind of equipment they are tested with. These circuits are going to be in 12" X 18" panels. Do they have to be singulated to be tested? Can someone just give me a real rough idea of what kind of equipment and the cost to do those kind of tests? Sorry 'bout being so dumb about stuff like this... We're talking yearly volumes of over 1,000,000 unit in many of the part numbers by the way...fun stuff huh? As always, forever in ya'lls debt... -Steve Gregory- ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
