When you mix high purity "low drossing" solders that contain Ph with lower
purity solders you will create more dross than with either of the two when used
seperately. I don't see a problem when mixing two lower grades...but the
mixture can be catostrophic to a wave solder machine. The nature of the organic
low drossing additives pull contaminates out and to the top. I would just
understand my chemistries before mixing them up.

Subject: Re: [TN] Mixing solder bars from different manufacturer's

Jim,
Ah there's the rub, in your last phrase - "if any quality issues could
arise". If it were to happen, for whatever reason, each solder bar
manufacturer could then point at the other. Unless you are talking a lot of
solder I would recycle it or use it in a small static solder pot, not in one
of your wave solder machines.

regards,
Bev Christian
