We use Alpha 65 with our spray fluxer. It's not very pretty for a no-clean, but it works most of the time. Whatever you use, watch your pre-heaters and your conveyor speed. Low volumes and high mix is kind of like running an obsticle course with your wave solder machine (strapped to your back). Whatever works today is not likely to work tomorrow. (Different board sizes, thicknesses and populations) In regard to your process---tune it, tweek it, and bang on it with both fists, then record your successes in your little black process book. Eventually you will develop a realistic wave soldering process expectation "curve" for your flux. Most flux manufacturers give you a spec sheet with a preheat "profile" for their products. Stay close to it and you should be O.K. Check their numbers-- some of them assume a standard preheat zone length, which may not agree with your oven. That and about a half-dozen other variables apply here. But you're a contract manufacturer, you're used to stuff like that, so deal with it.
