IPC -- Association Connecting Electronics Industries announced today the launch of its new Web site: www.leadfree.org. The site will include articles on lead-free electronics assemblies IPC has published in industry trade magazines, or presented at IPC and other industry technical conferences, and a Surface Mount Council white paper on lead-free electronics assemblies. "This is another effort to meet the IPC Board of Directors' goal of IPC educating and informing people about lead-free electronics assembly alternatives," says IPC vice president of standards and technology Dave Bergman. Updates on the IPC roadmap for the implementation of lead-free electronics assemblies will be posted on the site. Updates on any standards on lead-free electronic assemblies will also be posted.
