TechNetters, What is the proper way to document a notch on the edge of a PWB? I have an application where a connector requires two notches on the PWB edge. How do I dimension these two notches for the PWB fabricator, which are essentially a half circle from the edge of the PWB, with the edge being the circle diameter (2x radius) and the penetration into the PWB being the circle radius? Is it a note on the fab drawing with dimension data, a hole chart entry, something else?? How should it be documented in the Gerbers, as clearences and spacings must be maintained to remain in compliance with PWB edge specifications? What do designers do and fabricators prefer to see as documentation for this situation?? Any suggestions appreciated.
