Hello ! I have some boards which have diodes on, (nothing strange there). But during the cleaning, the polarity and markings have washed off. we know which components have this problem, so we fit these components, then inspect the board before cleaning and then inspect after completion. unfortunately, one diode did slip through the net i.e. fitted thr wrong way round. our testers did not like that, as it did some damage. and refuse to test any boards with markings missing. The question is, is there a I.P.C. standard or comment that allows the use of these components where all the markings have been removed? The detergent being used is a armaclean or vigon. ################################################################ TechNet E-Mail Forum provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ################################################################ To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TechNet <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TechNet ################################################################ Please visit IPC's web site (http://www.ipc.org) "On-Line Services" section for additional information.
