Anybody familar with interpreting Belcore's ionic contamination standard?

Just got off the phone with someone at alphametals stating that they believe
Belcore has adopted IPC's J001 standard on cleanliness. The J standard states a
1.56 (10.06) micrograms of Sodium Chloride equivalent per square centimeter
(inch) for assembed PWBs based on the surface area of the board plus components.
Apparently, this is independent of what method (Omega meter, Ionograph, etc.) is
used.

Does anyone else have any input on this?
