Hi; Today I find a catalog from a local representative of ERSA company, they have a wave soldering machine named SO-NO-CLEAN that is fluxless and using ultrasonics into the solder wave ( 20 KHz ) inside a sealed n2 chamber. So the ability to make hundreds of solder joints is now available. The strange thing is their web site don`t mention anything about that ... http://www.ersa.de/emach_e.htm Jorge Dourado de Santana Maintenance / Process Engr Microtec - Brazil > -----Original Message----- > From: [log in to unmask] [SMTP:[log in to unmask]] > Sent: 8 de Maio de 1999 06:35 > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: Re: [TN] (Fwd) Ultrasonic soldering > > In a message dated 07/05/99 07:28:01AM, [log in to unmask] > writes: > > My cynical two penneth: > Interesting articles appear every few years putting forward ultrasonic > soldering.... > but it never seems to go anywhere. > Less cynically: > I think possibly this is not because it doesn't work, but because it does > away with the main advantage of the soldering process which is its ability > to > make hundreds of joints similtaneously.
