Steve If I were faced with this the only questions I would have are: - is it going to be inspectable? Is there sufficient gap for inspection and to insure no CTE type interactions in the solder joints? - if it is an SMT application, will it result in one joint being robbed of solder (one joint has lots of solder, one joint doesn't have enough). Dealt with a design once where several adjacent legs of a SOIC were electrically common, the designer just put in one big pad instead of electrically joined smaller ones. The net result was a lead in the middle with lots of solder and the outside leads were "so so"... - Graham Collins -----Original Message----- From: Tempea, Ioan [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Friday, May 28, 1999 9:35 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [TN] assy: multiple terminations on 1 land Steve, we do this thing on most of our products. Because of frequent ECOs, we have to alter a lot of assemblies and it is pretty often that we connect two components on the same pad. And this is not a production level solution, since the modifications are done according to schematics issued by the Engineering.
