HI there everyone, this one goes out mainly to our U.K. technetters. I would like to know if anyone in the U.K. has managed to obtain any formal qualifications for the design of Printed Circuit Boards ? I know that there are the HNC/HND/Degree Etc. for electronics etc. But as far as I am aware there is not much in the way of formal qualifications for this specific subject. I do know that "EMTA" have produced some NVQ units (ENR/370 & ENR/371) that go together with other units to provide a "Design Level 3" NVQ & that this has recently been setup with the help of "Mentor Graphics". However despite having all the units for this, actually getting some help in interpreting them seems impossible (I've had them and been trying for the past 6 months). And now upon looking in the IPC catalogue I see that there is a "PWB Design certification CD-ROM" whats this for? Is there a Design cerificate exam that can be taken & is it reckognised over here in the U.K.? Any comments??
