If you don't get it to work, you can try Taconic's TLC-30 (DK 3.0), which is a 7628 glass fabric based PTFE base material. Due to the heavy glass fabric (x/y dim stab) it is really suitable for mixed dielectric hybrid multilayer. It is available in 20 mils thickness. regards Manfred Huschka Taconic Advanced Dielectric Division [log in to unmask] http://www.taconic-add.com --- On Wed, 3 Feb 1999 16:41:15 -0600 [log in to unmask] wrote: I created several R/F designs using a combination of CLTE and GETEK last year. As Ron said, the stuff be managed well in well managed pre lamination, lamination, and post lamination phases. Delamination can be a serious issue, but is minimized by those having been down the road. Another issue is cure. If not properly cured, you can take a pen knife and lightly pick away at the crumbling surface and deeper as the powdery substance comes apart. This condition usually is found in areas on/in the board exibiting "blisters" or really serious delamination. Not advertising, but the two shops successfully completing both test panels and production boards were Multek and Praegetzer. I only tried a couple of other local Bay Area shops and they didn't make the cut. As Ron said, the "resin" system, for lack of better terminology, is made PTFE, and a ceramic "frit" that, when coated/treated to the 106 glass style has a tendency to behave in a difficult way. Arlon and Rogers, who developed the "resin" system, talk about the mixture as chunky peanut butter being spread on a piece of glass fabric with hopes of making it stick. Not matter the difficulties, it certainly is attractive from a Dk standpoint. 2.94 is getting closer to air and, when successfully laminated, offers excellent dimensional properties.
