USE GAREDNER DENVER )

3.2 Testing of Wrapped Joints
3.2.1 There are four types of tests, 1 of which is destructive.
They are:
                a) Pull Off Test - Sample
                b) Unwrapped Test - Destructive
                c) DC Resistance Test - Sample
                d) Constant Resistance Test - Sample
Failure of any of these tests should result in the
re-calibration of the wire wrapping tool.
3.2.1.1 The pull off test should be performed on five wire-wrap
at the beginning of each day the wrapping tool is required. This
test shall be carried out using a calibrated hand held
tensileometer with a range of 0 to 5kgf and peak hold facility.
The wire wrap joints shall meet the minimum pull off force shown
in Table 1.
3.2.1.2 Unwrapping Test
The unwrapping test should be performed on five wire
wraps at the beginning of each day the wrapping tool is required.
For the wire to be acceptable, it must unwrap without breaking or
cracking, but the indentations of the four corner posts should be
clearly visible. Should breakage occur refer to Quality
Assurance.
3.2.1.3 DC Resistance Test
This shall only be performed if contractually required
and done so at the discretion of Quality Assurance using sample
wire-wraps.
The maximum resistance of each wire wrap joint shall not
exceed 3 milli-ohms.
3.2.1.4 Constant Resistance Variation
This test is only to be performed if contractually
required and at the discretion of Quality Assurance using sample
wire-wraps.
The maximum variation in resistance during the
disturbance shall not exceed 2 milli-ohms.
