Tenison, In a circumstance such as this I would create a sub-assembly within the bill of materials (BOM), or a small BOM just for that purpose. Example: SOFTWARE_PN MAKE ITEM (Company PN) EEPROM_PN BUY ITEM (Manufacturer PN) LABEL_PN BUY ITEM (Manufacturer PN) Dale Marcum - American Megatrends, Inc. -----Original Message----- From: Tenison Stone [SMTP:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Tuesday, January 26, 1999 11:32 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [TN] Manufacturing Software Hi everyone, Please keep this line on the technet. I am an OEM, but I have a division of our company that wants to treat us like a contract house. They want us to build using manufactures part number rather then our corporate part numbers. What do contract houses use for programming software that utilizes company part numbers and manufacturer part numbers? Thank you for you help. We have looked at one system specifically for contract manufacturing, Mannex, but the cost of this system may be beyond our current budget. I'm hoping some of you may have recommendations that might work in our environment. Thanks in advance.
