Brian
There're numbers of Vision Inspection system available in the market depending on your needs.
Some vision check for solderbility at the FOL and some even can detect the marking on the surface of the IC package which
meaning to say that to detect for wrong IC use.
We are currently using a vision inspection system that can detect orientation, missing / extra component and etc.
If you are intrested you can always look for below brand of vision machine available in the market.
1.) Hewlette Packard - 3D Xray Vision Inspection - Check for BGA solderbility and the rest of the component
2.) Omron - 2D solderbility vision inspection machine
3.) ATS - Vision to check for missing / extra comp. etc
4.) Marantz - Vision to check for Missing / Extra comp, wrong component etc.
Thanks and Rgds
