The Susquehanna Region Chapter of the IPC Designers Council Announces a Meeting to Discuss Controlled Impedance of PWBs Date: Tuesday December 15, 1998 (Note change in day from our normal Wed meetings.) Time: 6:30 - 8:30 pm Place: Vestal Public Library Vestal Parkway (Rt 434) Vestal, NY (Just west of the intersection of Rt 434 and Rt 26, on the south side of Rt 434.) Refreshments: Drink and a snack will be provided $1 members, $2 non-members; to cover cost of refreshments Steve Zimmer, Hadco Corp. employee and a SRC Member, will present a discussion on Controlled Impedance. Why is impedance control important, it was never even considered a few years ago? How do variables of materials, coupon design, and solder masks impact pwb impedance? How can these variables be controlled? What impedance tolerance can be achieved considering these variables? Should impedance be controlled by design artwork or by the pwb supplier? The discussion will also cover differential impedance. This should be a great meeting since it is conducted by one of our own members, who knows what level of technical detail we hope for. Come and participate in the discussion. To get an idea of attendance, please RSVP Rick Adams, Lockheed Martin Control Systems, (607) 770-2467 Or Scott Hust, Lockheed Martin Control Systems, (607) 770-2146 The Susquehanna Region Chapter of the IPC Designers Council is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for PWB Designers. ################################################################ DesignerCouncil E-Mail Forum provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ################################################################ To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE DesignerCouncil <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF DesignerCouncil ################################################################ Please visit IPC's web site (http://www.ipc.org) "On-Line Services" section for additional information.
