Oops...my Tech's just corrected me...we have been running all SOIC's now at full speed, and we have a 5.0mm nozzle for the large-16-pin-SOIC. The vacuum generated in the newer machines is excellent! It is impressive to watch those DIP's placed that fast! ______________________________ Forward Header __________________________________ Subject: [TN] mounting SOIC using Chipshooter Author: Jeff Hempton at Carrier-HUN-CED1 Date: 11/3/98 7:55 AM Marc, For SMD dip packages, we are using our FUJI CP-642 for mounting SMD SOIC and Large-SOIC packages very effectively using a 3.7mm nozzle, 24mm FUJI feeders. We run full speed for 8-pin, 90% speed for 14 & 16-pin SOIC, and 85% speed for Large-16-pin-SOIC. Works GREAT! This also gives us more latitude for line balancing with the flexible placer. Good Luck. Bituagan" <[log in to unmask]> at Internet Date: 11/3/98 1:48 PM To anyone who can help, We are contemplating on mounting a 14 pin DIP(4.3mm x 5.1mm, 0.35 mm pitch) using our FUJI CP6 chipshooter but have no experience doing so. We have successfully mounted 8 pin IC's in the past but not quite sure what to expect this time out. Anyone out there with experience or knowledge with the set-up, your two-cents on the matter is highly appreciated. Thanks. Marc O. Bituagan Industrial Engineer Electronic Assemblies, Inc.
