To all raw material Guru's, The inevitable changeover from Mil-S-13949 to IPC 4101 is upon us. With this in mind, I have a few questions: 1.) Does anyone know of any type of matrix that exists which would allow us to cross reference existing material call-outs from one spec to another? 2.) How are people dealing with the changeover internally? In other words, what is being done to reflect the changeover on all existing in-house documentation (ie: product travellers, batch cards, AS400 etc.)? 3.) Are the material vendors (as a courtesy) maintaining any type of history in regards to Mil-S-13949? If a company submits a requisition for a material using the "old" Mil-S-13949 call-out, will he/she be forever ostracised? Or, are there quick and easy ways to determine the IPC-4101 equiveleant of a Mil-S-13949 call-out? Thank you very much for any input.
