To all netters working to J-Std-001A or B The scenario.... You have a plated through hole board with 250 solder joints. The boards are being run in lots of 15 pieces. The boards are wavesoldered. On one board there is a single solder joint which is a cold solder joint which violates item 6 of Table 11-1 (Defects). According to the standard, corrective action must be initiated because this defect exceeds the 0.3% limit imposed in paragraph 9.1.1.. The questions are.. How is this handled by folks who are required to work to J-Std-001A or B ? Is "normal" touch up part of the wavesoldering process where this defect would be cause for corrective action if missed by wavesoldering and touch up ? Thanks for your help. PS. Thanks to all respondents to my question concerning the Actel CQ-132 component. Your responses were extremely valuble and helpful. Some folks really outdid themselves trying to help out. I really appreciate it !
