Dr. Warren Smith, The following definitions are from the NEMI, National Electronics MAnufacturers Initiative, Passive Component Technology Working group; I think that the name your looking for is "Integrated Passive Device' or IPD. The IPD is any network of resistors, capacitors, inductors or diodes within the same discrete component. The term "Integrated Passive" is different from the term "Integral Passives" which refers to resistors, capacitors or inductors buried within an interconnecting substrate. The term "Embedded Components" has been used, somewhat incorrrectly in my opinion, interchangably with either of the above terms or in reference to discrete passives buried in a PWB (which has not to proven to be a viable technology).
