I waited a while to see what other responses you would get. I saw one where it was recommended you scrap the board - which, depending on its application, is a perfectly reasonable response. However, when I worked in a military environment, the routine was to process the board through an environmental profile that included vibration and thermal cycling at accelerated ramp rates, over extended times. Can't remember what the profile was exactly, but it was the same used for routine processing of Class 1 Critical equipment (whether it was actually Class 1 Critical or not). The first thing was to visually inspect the board for any visible damage, rework, test, ESS & Vibe, retest, gain Customer concurrence on shipment. We didn't bother to submit boards that were "mission critical". These were automatic scrap when dropped. (However, we would scrap them to Engineering, Test, or the training department.
