Inform your customer that a contract for soldering to MIL-STD 2000 is uninforceable. The closing of the Goverment Schools rendered MIL-STD 2000 Task G impossible to achieve. There is no Category certification available to meet the requirements of the specification. Are they calling out MIL-STD 2000A whose requirements can be met? They are actually very different documents and have different lead tinning requirements. Single point soldering is soldering one termination at a time. I will fax you Mil-STD 2000 Par. 4.11.3 , par. 5.4.4, and par 5.4.17.6 Al Cash > ---------- > From: Rick Thompson[SMTP:[log in to unmask]] > Reply To: TechNet E-Mail Forum.;Rick Thompson > Sent: Thursday, August 27, 1998 4:43 PM > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: [TN] MIL-2000 Lead Tinning? > > Hi, > > We have a customer who is requesting a quote to build PCBAs with a > requirement for lead tinning & 'single-point' soldering per Mil-2000.
