Zack, Each supplier is going to have different levels of thiourea and acids in their solder conditioner, so they will all work slightly different. Additionally, your solder type (or brand) may be more susceptible to oxidation, and/or your alkaline etcher may be running at a very high pH, which forces you into needing a stronger formula. I'd recommend that you try a few suppliers to find the one that works best. If this doesn't work you may have to look at the solder bath, or at the way you're etching. Feel free to contact me if you'd like more information, or if you have any questions. Sincerely, Scott Griggs Senior Applications Engineer RBP Chemical Corp.
