Some CAD packages have symbols stored natively in ASCII format and this may be stable or at least modifiable between two revisions of software. Others the symbols may be binary in nature with keying to a particular version, so yes they can be an obstacle when crossing from one installation to another at dif- ferent revisions of the same product. All vendors up-rev but only a few support down-rev. Most CAD systems have a proprietary library format so you won't see anything transportable to another type of system. -- Jeff Seeger Applied CAD Knowledge Inc Chief Technical Officer Tyngsboro, MA 01879 jseeger "at" appliedcad "dot" com 978 649 9800 ################################################################ TechNet E-Mail Forum provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ################################################################ To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TechNet <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TechNet ################################################################ Please visit IPC web site (http://jefry.ipc.org/forum.htm) for additional information.
